CPS Professor Keynote Speaker at Broward Schools Prevention Conference

CPS associate professor Scott Poland Ed.D., was the keynote speaker for the Broward Schools Prevention Conference that took place recently. Addressing new school prevention liaisons, his presentation focused on the prevention of the three leading cause of death for students: accidents, homicide, and suicide. Poland’s address including the latest findings in preventing school violence including school safety and bullying prevention with an emphasis on building positive relationships with all students.

Poland, who is nationally recognized for his work in the areas of school crises, youth violence, and suicide intervention is the Coordinator of NSU’s Suicide and Violence Prevention Office.
