Center for Psychological Studies Associate Professor Barry Nierenberg, Ph.D., ABPP has recently been elected President of the Academy of Rehabilitation Psychology. The Academy’s main purpose is to provide advocacy with professional, service systems, and political/governmental bodies on areas of interest such as the American with Disabilities Act, and Education and Health Care Reform. In addition, the Academy is charged with presenting programs of continuing education.
In a continuing joint venture with the American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Psychological Association’s Division of Rehabilitation Psychology, Dr. Nierenberg has also been selected to Chair the 11th Annual Rehabilitation Psychology Conference in Jacksonville, Florida scheduled to take place February 27 – March 1, 2009.
