CPS Assistant Professor, Dr. Shannon Ray, conducted two presentations at the 1st Annual National Conference of the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Vaules in Counseling (ASERVIC) held June 15th to 18th at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. ASERVIC is a division of the American Counseling Association.
The presentations were titled "On the Journey to Meaning: Counseling Clients through Defining Struggles, Existential Crisis, and Spiritual Pilgrimage" and "Counseling Clients in Chronic Pain: A Religiously Oriented Cognitive-Behavioral Framework". Her co-presenter, Dr. Jennifer Curry, is an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Ray is a member of the Board of Directors for ASERVIC as well as the Chair of the Membership and Awards Committees and a member of the Conference Planning Committee. There were approximately 100 counselors and counselor educators from throughout the country in attendance.
